I wrote this post for a MDF assignment, but really liked the way it brought to the fore all the things that services designers do – both the physical and the invisible things.

Mostly I loved meeting Gilles Deleuze (a French philosopher whose had quite an impact on design theory). I loved learning about how his concepts can be applied to emerging work (the constant becoming), and that he was a peer of Foucault’s. Oh! to have been a fly on the wall in that room!

truthchangeswhatwethinkMDF often has me making connections btw the work we’re doing today in the formative years of the Tech revolution, and the questions that artists were grappling with regarding their visual art, during the upheaval of Industrial Revolution during the 19th Century.

Is Medium the equivalent of publishing a manifesto?

Either way it’s great and I’m enjoying the ride. It’s wonderful to meet such inspiring brains (both in person and via the written word), who are (or have) thought deeply about what they do and how they do it. And to have a chance to reflect if that’s something that I’d like to apply that thought to my practice.
